Falling Deeper

A time to suffer past
Just one demon left, me
A perfect escape, a sweet poison, another reason to sleep
Hide away in here, hide away in here
There is no one else but me, in here

To remember now, things forgotten with a clear perspective, as if for the first time
All the reasons seem perfectly clear in this new, blue, light

Given choice, given chance to change I will
Be my heart for all to see, me

It seems funny now to compare who I was when I built this
And this being who stands here now
Nothing felt good, beauty was absent
Or my eyes could not see what was there all along
A lifetime may have been wasted if not for this invention
And this intention to ascend
The wall which is a metaphor
A concept of isolation and reflection
Emphasis on the reflection

That’s why I built the wall (to learn how to love)
That’s why I built the wall (to find peace and forgive)
That’s why I built the wall (to take the life of my ego)
That’s why I built the wall (to remember my choice)
That’s why I built the wall (I built it up so high)
That’s why I built the wall (I built it up so hard)
I tried to blame everyone but I’m the only one in here

That’s why I built the wall
That’s why I built the wall

Now that it’s falling down, now I know
